About the Book
A victim of corporate downsizing in the bank at which he has worked for thirty years and trapped in an unhappy marriage, Henry Earl considers his future. He thinks about his life and how he came to be where he is today. He remembers his father: a force of nature and, sadly, a man as deaf as Henry has become. Recalling the events of both their lives—their laughter, their loves, and their tragedies—Henry weighs the past and the present and comes to a decision about what to do next in this dark comic tale.
About the Author
Born in England, Keith Chater studied at the University of Toronto and at Queen’s University, Kingston, where he earned a Ph.D in Modern History. He taught in Trinidad and lectured at the University of the West Indies before working in the Canadian banking industry. ‘Henry In Pieces’ is his second book. A first novel, about a family funeral, was set in Trinidad. He is currently working on a third book that revolves around murder and mayhem during a church service on Easter Sunday morning. It is the author’s belief that in laughter and comedy we find the strength to face the challenges of this life.
