About the Author
Domonique Mayhawk is a freelance children book illustrator who loves and serves Jesus Christ! She sets Christ as the foundation of her work and uses her talent to touch the lives of people. Her inspiration for writing and illustrating this book first came from God and second came from her childhood. Many of her experiences are told in "Meet Pooky", but a lot came from her imagination to help make the story fun for children to read! Domonique was born and raised in Detroit,Michigan in 1981 and moved to Ann Arbor when she was 11 where she had to adapt to change in environments. She went on to get her BFA from University of Michigan, she then got her first job as an illustrator for a book called LJ and the Dreammaker by Sherry O'Neal which is still in production. She now hopes to start her own freelance children illustration company, and write and illustrate more children books.
