About the Book

Mother's Whispers had its poetic impetus in the beautiful island of Bermuda. With the ocean as its surroundings, the poem called "The Ocean", was the first poetic piece penned for the book. Another poem entitled, "A Poem Saluting Mothers", is self-explanatory and is attributed to her mother's total support of her writing. This book infuses everyday topics of Life into poetic pieces, such as, "Homelessness Is So Common", "Ferocious Fabian"( Hurricanes), "The Cry From Within the Walls"(Prison). The flavors of Nature and its benefits are included in the poems, "Rain", "The Rhythm in Nature" and " Mornings". Turning current events into poetry has an integral part in this book, as well, e.g. "The New Face of Change"( The Obamas)
In essence, this book shouts about family life and other elements which make for stimulating reading.

About the Author

Erlor Dean was born and raised in Bermuda. Having obtained a Teaching Certificate from Ottawa Teachers’ College, her next pursuit was a Master’s degree from Wheelock College in Boston, Massachusetts. She now teaches English at a Correctional Facility in Bermuda. It was because of her mother, Inez’, love for poetry and language that she was inspired to write. After a lengthy lapse of time, her husband encouraged her to get moving to bring this book of poems to publication. She has borrowed this anonymous quote, which she has molded into her teaching career; “If I cannot do great things, I can do small things in a great way”. She feels blessed to be a member of a very supportive family, coupled with a group of friends who are dear to her heart. Her other hobbies are singing and travelling.
