About the Book

There she was, this ten year old little girl sitting on a chair at the church lobby when suddenly she saw him. He was a very handsome boy who would soon become her one true love. Between her childhood days and adolescent years they took some time out to know each other and became very close friends. It was by his side that she discovered how to deal with life situations, understand boys and protect herself from them. Although they never had the opportunity to be in a formal relationship together, for the past fi fteen years, they have always been connected to one another. Each poem expresses feelings of love, happiness, confusion, fear, hurt, anger, or frustration, and passion that a person could feel when having the one you love too close, but not close enough.

About the Author

Esther-Racquel Rodriguez is a 25 year old, single, Puerto Rican woman. Born in PR, by the age of four, she moved to NY with the goal of beginning a new and successful life. For the past five years Ms. Rodriguez has worked as a Mathematics Teacher at high school levels and during her free time has written many poems. While growing up Esther-Racquel noticed that by writing poems she could express her feelings and emotions in a healthy way, especially when those feelings were about her true love. This book includes a collection of a few poems written over the past fifteen years.
