About the Author

The author is a Bronx, New York, native; a twenty-year veteran of the New York City Police Department; a recently divorced mother of one son, and a soon-to-be grandmother. Raised in a traditional Puerto Rican family, she was married and started her own family at an early age. However, old-school tradition soon yielded to contemporary financial demands, and she found herself in an eye-opening police career, patrolling the streets of the South Bronx. Like many other hardworking middle-class families, a move to the suburbs and home ownership soon followed. As we all know, life is not a fairy tale, and she decided to write this book after her two-decade-long marriage ended in divorce. It is not a bitter story, but one rooted in reality, humor, and rebirth. The book is a reflection on the trials and tribulations of relationships and on having the courage to say it out loud. It utilizes the advantage of hindsight to shed light on some of the challenges faced in relationships and the silly things humans are capable of. It is the sincere hope of the author that you find this book inspirational and that it ultimately brings a smile to your face.
