Grandpa Oscar was truly one of a kind, and he made so many people smile. This story is a way to remember him and all the positive memories that were shared. This book reminds us that while losing someone so special can be very scary and sad, the best way to honor them is to remember all the fun times and memories. Grandpa Oscar represents all of those special people that have made others’ lives more joyful.

About the Author

About the author: Jamie is an elementary school teacher in Berkeley, CA. She grew up in southern California with an incredibly supportive and loving family, and was lucky enough to have her Grandpa Oscar in her life for 14 years. As a lover of children’s stories and the impact they have on her students, she was inspired to write a children’s book casting light on the positive memories of those who are no longer in our lives. It is important to her to have stories available that children are able to both relate to and fi nd humorous. About the illustrator: Rita Borofsky has been an elementary teacher for 40 years, and a neighbor of Grandpa Oscar. She feels honored to be the illustrator of Jamie Davidson’s tribute to her grandfather.
