About the Book
"In her book, ´God Has Been Whispering In My Ear´, Sue Maurer has chronicled beautifully her pilgrimage into God which she discovered was also a pilgrimage into her own deepest identity. She has experientially parted "The Clouds of Unknowing" so that her readers can gaze into the God the Scriptures have named ´I AM´." - JOHN SHELBY SPONG, Bestselling author of "Why Christianity Must Change or Die" and "A New Christianity For a New World".
"Sue Maurer´s book personally and authentically documents the church and society´s ever-increasing struggle and dialogue between the worlds of creed and gnosis, belief and experience. She knows the ´dark night of the soul´, but also the freedom of trusting and treasuring the inner experience of God. In answer to the BBC reporter´s question,´Do you now believe in God?´ Carl Jung said, ´Believe? That is a hard question. I do not believe. I know.´ Sue Maurer ´knows.´ This is another in the increasing testimonials to the inner experience of God, which is so needed in our day to counter-balance our almost total outer experience of God. Sue found the ancient biblical experience of listening to her nightly dreams to be the door that opened to her inner experience of the Divine as well as guidance for her life." - BOB HADEN, Director of the Haden Institute, Flat Rock, NC.
“God speaks first in one way, and then in another, although we do not realize it. In dreams and in night-visions, when slumber has settled on humanity and people are asleep in bed, God speaks in someone’s ear…” Job 33:14-16a
We are born divine and holy beings, created by, and in the image of God, desiring to express and experience the fullness of the peace, radiance and love that is our very nature. We are taught to conform our existence to the expectations and demands of those around us. In this process we become separated from the innate truth of our lives being an expression of oneness with God. An experience of the present reality of God through our attentiveness to our dreams and the healing and understanding they provide, restores in us a reason for being and opens the door to a sense of intimacy with God - where our being and God’s being are experienced as one.
