This book is about a trial lawyer who has defended, prosecuted, and judged murderers, whores, thieves, madams, and con men for a lifetime. It is the true story of what actually happened in court. As a former Texas Legislator he also worked on legislation involving these and other issues. It gives an inside look at what actually goes on in courts, the legislative halls and law practice, in the Southwest by one who has been there and done that. It is also a primer for Judges with rules, many unspoken and unwritten that everyone should know about. It is written in a humerous vein and actually described legal cases that will startle and amuse-- all true.
About the Author
Senior Judge Jim Barlow has practiced law privately, been a prosecutor for the State of Texas, a District Attorney, a trial Judge in the District Courts of Texas .He has tried almost every kind of case that exists in the courts today. He is qualified in Criminal, Civil, Juvenile, and Family law cases, and has spent his entire time in litigation in all of these fields. He was in the Texas Legislature before becoming District Attorney. He was a part time instructor in the fields of Criminal Law and Procedure and Trial Advocacy at St. Mary’s University School of Law for about 20 years.
