I began with the desire to chronicle my thoughts about the people who lived along the Nolichucky river in a valley of the East Tennessee Mountains in the 1930’s. As I began writing the words flowed effortlessly from my pen. My thoughts wandered back in time to a large estate in Lexington Kentucky in the 1880’s where mystery, apparitions, suspense and deception prevailed. The tragedy and deception that began during the Civil War in the 1860’s had a chilling effect on the lives in the 1880’s. The tragedy became known and the deception was exposed. Events of the past had profound effects on the lives in the 1930’s. The mystery was solved and the whole story of the past was tied together with a surprising ending.
