About the Book

Mary Elizabeth relates the Hamilton family's journey from Kentucky to Nebraska by wagon train in the 1880's. This true story of pioneer experiences is related in ten-year-old Mary Elizabeth Hamilton's journal. Mary Elizabeth left her journal with a country doctor after her family and the wagon train were devastated by a small pox epidemic after crossing the Missouri River into Nebraska.
