About the Book
The Ghost Squad led by Staff Sergeant Jeff Montgomery, embarks on a topsecret land operation at the request of the U.S. Navy. In mid 1944 during a monsoon a Petty Officer either fell, was washed or pushed overboard from hisPT boat in the Leyte Gulf. The sailor is a strong swimmer and the navy believes he made it to shore. On his wrist is a tattoo. Unknown to him, words on the tattoo relate to the army's planned assault on Leyte. The Ghost Squad's mission is to retreive the Petty Officer before Japanese forces find him and break the code, which woudl cost the lives of thousands of U.S. military forces. In a heart stopping quest the men apply all their skills in rifle and pistol markmanship, mountaineering, and mano a mano combat. Follow the squad as it pushes through enamy infested Philippine mountains, jungle and rivers to a spine tingling conclusion on an isolated ocean reef.
