In view of the many lists of greatest athletes and all-time teams compiled by experts throughout the nineties, author Robert E. Lozada thought it would be interesting to pick an all-time team of Cubans who played in the major leagues. Now in his new book, THE ALL-TIME CUBAN MAJOR LEAGUE TEAM, he compiles the most comprehensive and well-researched list of the first Latin Americans to play in a professional baseball league, their many firsts and their valuable contributions to the American major leagues.

In THE ALL-TIME CUBAN MAJOR LEAGUE TEAM, Lozada briefly covers the Cuban baseball history from 1866 when a group of American sailors gave some Cuban dock workers quick lessons on the game, until the heyday of Cuban participation in the big leagues in the fifties and sixties, and then until the mid-eighties when an array of American-bred stars from the exile community led by Jose Canseco began to come up to the majors. From these he has chosen the greatest players, position by position, that have played in the major leagues.
