About the Book
The discovery of ancient papers leads Edward Barns on a dangerous journey to a remote part of the New Jersey Pine Barrens. Left for dead by his cousins, Barns falls into a ravine, smashes his compass, and stumbles into Woodbine, a village that has been hidden in the forest for centuries. The people there are throwbacks to an earlier time, and seem to be controlled somehow by a mysterious man living in a rotting, bricked-up mansion in a valley. The mystery begins to unfold when Barns enters the mansion through a forgotten tunnel in the woods.
