About the Book
The author lives in a beautiful valley in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, in Northern California, where she receives much of her inspiration for the children’s books she writes. Terk home schooled both of her now adult children, and in the process was able to read thousands of story books to them. Rhyming books were always a favorite, leading Terk to write many of her own. Though many of Terk’s books have a lesson for the reader, “Penelope the Pea-Popping Pigeon” just tickles the funny bone with a feel-good story about a pigeon and a boy, who each find joy in a vegetable garden at the peak of the summer season. Imagine yourself in a pea patch, on a hot summer day, engulfed by the sounds and smells of a summer garden, and you will find yourself the main character in “Penelope the Pea-Popping Pigeon.” Read to your kids today and change their lives tomorrow.
