If it wasn’t for the army you probably never get out of the old neighborhood. Getting a chance to see the world. You’ll be talking about your army experiences the rest of your life. This may be the best years of your life.

About the Author

Lorraine and I had a family emergency. We had to leave Chicago and live in a far northern suburb. After living in the fast life of the city, it seemed awfully boring in the new subdivision. I had just retired from laying brick for forty years. I wanted to keep my mind active, I joined a writers correspondence group. Thinking my army career might be interesting, I wrote about it no one was. I thought maybe if I wrote about my sexual exploits maybe they would be. Then I was too embarrassed to have anyone read it. Times have changed. Making sure I didn’t forget anything I wrote this as a documentary, and not as a novel. I’m back in the city again, and long for the piece and quite of the suburbs, so I could write again.
