The Christmas Siren is the story of one man’s sacrifice and how his unselfish act of heroism saved five lives and an entire community. The Christmas Siren: If You Believe in Miracles They Will Happen More Than Once, is the story of African-American fireman, Arthur Reese. After accepting a promotion to Lieutenant and a transfer to a fire station that was commanded by a devout racist, Arthur Reese was subjected to persecution, blatant racism and cruelty that would have sent most men running. Although he was treated horribly by his peers, Arthur Reese remained steadfast to the Brotherhood of firemen. He was a shining example of what it is to be a fireman, a good husband, father and mentor. He gave his life in the line of duty to save his persecutors. His unselfish act of bravery caused them to question the roots of racism. His bravery spawned a miracle and changed the lives of those men in the fire department and the entire community. On Christmas Eve, three weeks after his death, a siren sounded across the entire city. No one knows where it came from or who was responsible. It sounded for over half an hour. It was never heard again. On that night another miracle occurred. This story is based on true events.

About the Author

Lee Shargel is the executive producer of FilmWorks LSD, an independent feature film, media and entertainment company in Charlotte, NC. He is the author of the best-selling sci-fi novel Voice in the Mirror. He was the science fiction contributing author to the best-selling book, 100 Years of Moving Pictures. He has written numerous magazine articles and over 16 screenplays. He has written, produced and directed award winning films and shorts.
