About the Book
Social Security is going broke, and congressional tax increases have not stopped it. A small group of people wants to make some changes. That group includes two men who maintain a friendship that started in Vietnam—Doug Grant and Vern Childs. Other groups want to prevent changes. A government panel is appointed to recommend solutions to the long-range financing problem of the retirement system. The panel deals with internal conflicts and unexpectedly delivers a significant report. The story is fiction, but the problem is real.
