About the Book
It was hard writing this book because it brought tears, laughter, and most of all healing. When I was a child, I wanted to be like my mother. I wanted to cook and clean like her. One morning, my whole life change in an instant. Putting on my mother’s clothes and prancing around the house, I wanted to cook just like mama. When I opened the door of the stove, I stuck a stick inside and played with the fire. Somehow, my clothes caught fire. My life just didn’t get any better after that day.
About the Author
When Janet wrote this book, she knew that her life had to be told. She found out that the man she thought was her real father wasn’t. As a child, her own mother allowed men to touch her in places that should not have been touched by anyone. When she was a teenager, she got pregnant by a man that was older than she, and when he found out, he told her to have an abortion. But Janet refused and gave birth to a daughter who stopped breathing when she was two months old. This caused damage to her brain. Too Many Miles, Not Enough Love is what Janet’s life was and still is.
