K STREET is the quintessential Washington novel. Max Werner is president of a Washington, D.C.-based national trade association which represents an important industry crucial to the success of all manufacturers. He is also the chief lobbyist for the industry. Max is fighting a monumental battle on three fronts. Foremost he is attempting to defeat a bill in the Senate that would be exceedingly detrimental to his industry, and at the same time he is struggling to affect a reform of the Defense Department’s extremely wasteful purchasing methods that are costing the taxpayers billions. Along with all of this, Max has an enemy who is plotting to destroy him. In spite of his awesome responsibilities, Max has found time to fall in love with the gorgeous Rena Crawford. As an experienced lobbyist, Max has found that he has to use every strategy in his repertoire and devise some brilliant new ones in order to stay in a game that is played in the Devil’s playground.

About the Author

William (Ed) Hardman was, for more than 20 years, the President of a large, Washington-based national trade association. During that period he published many articles and books in the field of engineering and technical training. Now that he is retired he has entered the field of fiction writing. The Bridge is his second novel. His third novel, almost ready for publication, is centered around the assassination of President Kennedy. He makes his home in Maryland with his wife, Yolanda.
