About the Book

Tony Pail reminds us to open our hearts to new experiences and to trust our feelings. It is a story about Rebecca, a young girl battling a serious illness, and her emotional journey. Rebecca courageously decides not to spend the remainder of her days in the hospital and shifts her focus to her love of horses. One day at the stables, she meets a new and very mysterious horse that seems to be trying to communicate with her. He tells her his name is Tony Pail, and although she knows he cannot really talk, her heart welcomes this new friend who doesn’t ask too many questions or isn’t overly concerned with her illness and limitations. Tony encourages her to trust her feelings and not be constrained by conventional thinking. She talks to Tony about her hopes, her fears and her confusion about her remaining days. He assures her that he will always be with her and promises to make the journey with her. Tony Pail is a story of courage, hope and belief. Whether or not you believe in talking horses, join Rebecca on her journey and be inspired.

R. Aaron Flores is a resident of Palo Alto, California and Santa Fe, New Mexico. He writes situational poetry and stories for young children. His previous works included Tony Pail, a story about Rebecca, a young girl battling a serious illness and her emotional journey. Both Tony Pail and Drewbyt are stories of courage, hope and belief written to inspire children as well as their families.
