About the Author

Dr. John Maybury has had a wide range of experiences in and out of the church and has ministered for almost 60 years in various pastoral and lay settings. For 28 years, he served as a pastor in the Church of the Nazarene across the U.S. He has been a chaplain in hospitals and the Civil Air Patrol and has served as Director of International Institute in Orange County, California where he helped thousands of refugees from Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laotian Mhoung resettle in the United States. He taught at the California Christian Institute in the field of psychology and provided counseling services in a private practice. Dr. Maybury has written a number of magazine articles, a booklet called Burnout and The Bible, and a book, Silver Years Among the Gold. He holds four degrees in Bible and Theology and Church History and a M.A. and PhD. in psychology with special training through APCE as a hospital Chaplain. He has been married for over 57 years to his lovely wife, Thelma Cody Maybury, and they have four children and twelve grand children.
