About the Book
This book is about certain facts that I have read about or observed through the years during my life. Some or all will not sit well with you, well with Nationalities and/or people I have written about. But sometimes, “You have to be cruel to be kind.” I am sure there will be critics both pro and con for most or all I have written. But facts are facts and I stand by my convictions. I had a very good education in Gerard College in spite of it being like a prison to me. But I have forgotten, what most have yet to learn, a little bit of what my school taught me. I have dedicated this book to five people; four friends and one relative. All are dear to me, three are deceased and all had gone in the prime of their lives. I met Eddie and Equas, Jim at Woody’s and Danny while I was homeless. I miss them like a duck misses water, and I hope by having their names in print, Eddie, Jim, and Danny will not be soon forgotten. I have been to Eddie’s home in the suburbs in Collingswood. He was really suburban with a garden and a pool on the grounds. Eddie had an earring in his left ear and his drag name was “Hellen” with two “l’s”. Eddie was very likeable and had a friendly personality. He was a bartender who became my friend and mentor. Eddie is the reason I have an earring in my left ear. He let me act as I wanted to. He died in 1989 of aids and is sorely missed. Jim was a bartender at Woody’s and was six foot or six foot one. He was a quiet spoken man and hard to hear over the noise of the bar. He liked to wear drag but I never knew his drag name. Not all Gays wear drag only a select few. I do not like it but I do condone it. To those I have dedicated this book to I say, “Until we meet again.”
