About the Book
The Great Squirrel is a feel-good story that aims to answer children’s questions about God and the meaning of life. The Great Squirrel instructs that we must do our share and strive to leave the world a better place than when we came in. Dr. Straus hopes to make the world a better place with the publication of his story.
About the Author
Dr. Straus began writing fiction as a student at Jericho High School in New York. After completing an advertising campaign for the fictitious Grumberous Cheese Company, Dr. Straus attended SUNY Binghamton where he received a degree in Chemistry. He subsequently obtained his medical degree, going on to work in the area of internal medicine and conducting research at the National Institutes of Health. After combating multiple sclerosis for many years, Dr. Straus retired from the practice of medicine. He now lives in Rockville, Maryland where he writes children’s books. His literary career was inspired by his two grown children for whom he invented many bedtime tales.
