About the Book
RELEASED is a collection of sonnets inspired by the life of the poet. Each poem is designed not only to rhyme, but also to tell a story. The poetry within RELEASED is from different modules of the artist’s life. The subjects addressed are not sugarcoated. Some of them are blunt, explicit, to the point lyrics that people sometimes tend to cover up rather than deal with. She was one of those people. Very few knew of all the hurt that she endured throughout different stages of her life. She starts by WARNING you about the contents of the book. She shares with you how her life and the lives of others around her have been TAMPERED with. She tells of the BETRAYAL she endured by people she trusted. Although, she has been TORN and BATTERED, she has proven herself to be strong. For years she struggled to be RELEASED from the captivity of her mind. She asked herself “WHAT AM I AFRAID OF?” She was afraid of what society might think of her if she spoke out. So, she started to pray more and more about her situations. Because her prayers weren’t answered as quickly as she wanted, she started to question her faith. She wanted answers, so she asked the Lord “GOD, ARE MY PRAYERS IN VAIN?” Eventually, she did get the answers she’d been searching for and now she has been RELEASED. She likes to think of herself as being AWAKENED BY THE SILENCE. So, now she’s not holding back or being held back any longer. She has FULL ACCESS to her mind. No longer does she feel encaged by the unfortunate events of her life. Her objective is to share her experiences with others and let them know that they are not alone. It’s ok to open up, let go and be RELEASED.
