About the Book
The lieutenant, called Morning Wolf by his scouts and grit in the face of hostiles and the gunrunners who supply them, takes him and his men on a quest from Texas into the hotly-contested Dakotas of 1876— in a story that tells of courage, dedication to duty, of the bonds formed between men flung into the wintry blasts of the Northern Territories —far from home and the women who love them.
About the Author
Fran Gilliland, an artist and author hooked on history, began long ago collecting old family letters, photos, and memorabilia. Learning part of a ranch she inherited sat where ‘history literally lay in the grass’... where bullets and arrowheads still marked battles where the Army met the Comanche, Kiowa, and Cheyenne... she began to research for a novel. Voices on the Wind, Will McGovern, Cibolo Creek, and Morning Wolf, reflect the love she has for working in this genre.
