Picture this scenario: your spouse comes home one day with a person you have never seen and informs you that this person will now reside with you and will require an inordinate amount of attention, cuddling and love for the immediate future, and ongoing attention and time for the duration of your relationship. Oh, one more thing – you have no decision in the matter. Unless you have prepared your child, that’s exactly what you are “saying”. This book will help your child accept the new baby. As good parents, that’s what we want to do.I have worked with children for over 40 years, in day care settings and teaching in elementary and junior high school. Children are marvelous, miraculous beings and should be cherished, nurtured and protected. I have always tried to see the world from the child’s’ point of view in order to teach and explain – and most especially – to remember. As parents, we have total and explicit love and trust from our children and that’s a great opportunity for us as well as a responsibility to them. I thoroughly enjoy my own children and grandchildren and wish that for you.
