About the Book

From the early entries of the 1990’s to present day, B J Mathias, columnist for the Hattiesburg American in Hattiesburg, Mississippi has shared her heart-warming stories of growing up in the 1950’s as well as the many adventures, trials and tribulations of raising four children and on to the absolute joy of grandchildren. A Gentle Morning Rain, not only chronicles the life of a family, but in so many ways, the life of a nation, through some of the most trying and triumphant of times. In the midst of it all, there is doubt sometimes, discouragement sometimes, laughter often but always and forever there is faith.

About the Author

B.J. Mathias is an author, artist, actor, director and playwright. Three of her plays, currently in publication, have been nationally produced. She has published four children’s books, created a curriculum for Audition Process and Professional Development. She has performed across the U.S. with her one-woman-show: Susanna Wesley. B.J. and her husband, Lon live in the country near Purvis, Mississippi, enjoying the many hours spent with their four grown children, spouses and, much to their delight, their five grandsons. B.J. is a 2003 graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theatre.
