About the Book
My Book, “ICON OF LOVE” is the early history of the OLD LATIN CULTURE – CUBANS, ITALIANS, SPANISH AND NOT LATINOS, GERMANS WHO DID A REMARKABLE WORK AND ALMOST TO PERFECTION OF THE “LITHOGRAPH” THAT WENT INTO THE CIGAR BOXES.
The main concern today, year 2007 is that the present members of OLPH Parish may not be informed of their early beginning of the beautiful church that they now attend and enjoy.
OUR EARLY AND TRUE CULTURE that started, not only the OLPH PARISH but actually the birth of YBOR CITY were the Cubans, Spanish, Italians and Germans.
Today it is appropriate to reflect on the struggles and the achievements of those who brought the CATHOLIC FAITH to YBOR CITY.
It indeed would be a tragedy if the first OLD LATIN CULTURE would be submerged by time and perhaps forgetfulness.
MY BOOK presents the total TRUTH of the EARLY CULTURE and actually the first CULTURE AND HERITAGE OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF YBOR CITY.
