About the Author

Derrick Drake is a son, grandson, nephew, cousin, and a father. A resident of the Prince George’s County, Maryland area, Derrick was born and has lived in Washington’s metropolitan area in the Washington suburbs for over thirty years. Derrick’s deep family ties where fostered by his parents’ southern origins, a special connection to Manteo on the Outer Banks in North Carolina. Writing since his early teens, Derrick takes his love for education, communication, people, as well as his surroundings, and uses them to promote practical everyday living. Derrick has devoted the past ten years to the study of mental illness.
