About the Book

Elephants & Ashtrays, the foundation for our everyday lives. Each person has their own elephant and our pursuit of them often lands us in an ashtray. These selected poems are all about just that: the elephants that are our lives and the ashtrays we step into.

These selected poems are about people, places, or situations and dreams we may have all experienced. From the long lost “Maria” to “Bosom’s Road” these poems are sure to have you contemplating and sharing them time and again.

About the Author

Ryan David Miller was born in Colorado in 1986. He attended and graduated from Ute Creek Secondary Academy (Longmont, Colorado) in 2004. Some of his publications include the poem “Blown Away” on www.dickstaub.com. Www.epiphany-arts.com featured one of his more respected poems “Maria”. He has also gained acceptance by other poets on the scene for his spoken word performances in Colorado, Massachusetts and North Carolina. Currently residing in Wilmington, North Carolina, Ryan often jokes about being “born in the West and baptized in the South!” “Poetry and music are two of the greatest things we have. Most often they work well together, but sometimes they are good by themselves. I wish to bring a greater awareness to poetry as a single art form.” -Ryan Miller Gene Jones, author of Beyond Good & Evil (available on Amazon.com), praises Ryan’s work claiming that; “Ryan is like Bob Dylan revisited. His poems remind me of the lyrics of the Kingston Trio and Peter Paul & Mary, as well as others of the folk movement in the 1960’s. He is a master of contemporary rhyme which is so refreshing to hear and read these days.” Ryan continues to write and perform his poetry. He has no plans for stopping anytime soon and hopes to continue as a master of his craft.
