About the Book

A spirited memoir of the author’s life from her birth in Texas to her decision to emigrate to Canada in l969, recounting her dysfunctional family experiences, working for the C.I.A. without knowing it, obtaining a PhD from the University of North Carolina, enduring a breakdown and years of psychotherapy, teaching in Virginia and Ohio, surviving two marriages, two children, and heavy involvement in the struggle to end the Vietnam war.

Told both through narrative and short poems, this memoir is a record of a American political education as well as an absorbing psychological tale.
