Colored Dreams
In The Sky!
Stars spangle bountifully and chains are broken in freedom,
as equality in grace, hidden in the shadows of a race,
to supercilious to cry,
too arrogant to give in to a woman’s face,
too proud to pray for mercy, in the eyes of the human race,
and flags wave for the masses, and preciosity in mankind,
ascititiously seeking righteousness, to free a colored mind,
and basking in compassion, cometh humanity to sour dry weeping eyes,
in the arms of the master, for a colored dream in the sky!
and freedom is given, to change a fate, through the power of god, for those
who wait,
for the arms of justice, the broken chain, the hugs of humanity, the warmth
of change,
and reparation cometh quickly, assuaged in the depth of a cry,
to a Negro’s heart, from a colored dream In the sky
Master, Master, they pray, always asking why?
