About the Book

For more than a year, the author worked on the set of a new TV night-time soap opera, both in production, and as an extra. Every day on the set, new acquaintances would sit down and just “unload” their life stories, each one more amazing than the last. These weren’t the big-name stars, just regular people trying to get by and maybe “make it big” one day. “The Stories They Told Me” is exactly that: a compilation of these life stories. Some were funny, some were sad, but each one demonstrated that hope never dies.

Melissa Gillman Melissa Gillman has been a professional actress for over thirty years, working in stage, television, commercials, film, and even comedy clubs. Married for over twenty-five years, with three grown sons, she splits her time between the New York/New Jersey area and Southern California. An avid reader, Melissa has always been a “journalist” in the original context, keeping detailed written notes and diaries on her experiences in life. This is her first book.
