About the Book
Involved in writing classes in both high school and college for thirty-nine years, Estella Blevins extends her forte by creating vignettes of humorous behaviors of herself and her colleagues. Ever one to enjoy a good joke and to promulgate optimism, the author developed her work through a critique group that encouraged publication. “Writing is just entertainment for me now, and, I hope, for readers,” Estella Reed Blevins said. Dr. Blevins holds a doctorate in Education from Indiana University. She is currently a columnnist for “The Communique” of Central Indiana Writers’ Association.
About the Author
Sixteen fictional tales of Essies, or senior citizens, created with exaggeration and humor, typify graying Americans as a subculture. Submitting to a quieter life after vaunted independence, Essies portray situations when dwelling in a community with many independent cottages and duplexes encicling an apartment complex. Written to convince readers that there is fun in life after 65, as baby boomers turn into Essies.
