About the Book
After several put offs, a young couple expecting their first child finally takes the trip of their dream; a trip they had been looking forward to all year, just the two of them on a boat for one whole day, cruising the magnificent royal blue waters in the southern reaches of Florida. But the trip takes a dramatic turn. Strong winds break the boat apart, and powerful ocean currents flush the expectant wife onshore into an unwelcoming forest of mangrove trees on a remote and uninhabited island. The husband, however, is swept into the deep belly of the ocean and disappears. Fearful that she may never be found or make it alive, she begins to write a journal of her reflection on life, love, God, and everything in between for her child.
