About the Book

Colors: Is a collection of poetry that has been written with the purpose of playing with abstract images of colors, geometric figures, shapes and textures. The book has one theme: colors and it talks about diverse topics. The poems are written in a very simple grammatical structure that plays with no punctuation to give the reader the chance to experiment with the rhythm while reading this material.


About the Author

Adriana Batista was born in Mexico City in 1963. She is the co-author of Liberación Homosexual (Posada, Mexico, 1984), and the author of the poetry collection Ensayo de un Sueño (Quiero Mas, Mexico, 1992). Her articles have been published in the magazines Fem, Astillas, La Calavera and La Guillotina, Mexico; Mother Tongues, Canada and Adelante, USA. Her chronicles, short stories and poetry have appeared in El Día, El Financiero and La Jornada dailies, Mexico, and the newspapers Morena and Tiempo Latino, USA. From 1987 to 1990 she was the co-author of the comic book Sporadica. In 1992 she published Smile, the world is sheet in Mexico City, and in 1998 she published Epidermic Nihilisms (Quiero Mas, USA). Adriana has represented her country at the 3, 4, and 5 International Feminist Book Fair, Montreal, Barcelona and Amsterdam and at the 54 PEN World Congress, Canada. In 2002 she was the co-author and editor of the comic book SIDA no se Quita (California AIDS Clearing House, USA). Adriana Batista lives and works in Southern California where she is working in her first novel, Acid Rain.
