About the Book
Myths and legends are great to read and hear, but where do they come from and why were they written? These questions are answered by the “Legendary Explanations” series. Days of Dancing Lights is the first book of this series. It is a newly created legend which offers one explanation for the Aurora Borealis or Northern Lights. Primitive people experienced the same unusual natural disasters and strange occurrences we encounter today. Modern man has the science and the technology to help us understand these strange events. Primitive man could only guess what might be making the world behave differently than they expected. These people invented legends to explain these strange happenings and to make themselves feel safe. The “Legendary Explanations” series is designed to be a teaching resource. Each book is an original legend and the artwork contained in each book is based upon the culture represented in the story. Days of Dancing Lights is based upon the Inuit people.
