About the Book
The Invasion of the Crow is based on a true story that happened to the author, Roger L. Walsh, when he was twelve years old. The story describes Mr. Walsh’s experiences with a special crow that was terrorizing the neighborhood. The author and his father were bird lovers. They worked together to find peace between the crow and the fearful neighbors. This memoir takes place in Vandergrift, Pennsylvania in the 1950’s. Mr. Walsh still has the love of birds that he and his father shared. He enjoys identifying birds by sight and sound. Every day, he puts out food for his neighborhood birds, including five crows who come each day. He enjoys hearing them talk to each other in their special crow talk.
