About the Book

This book describes a courageous journey of a child abandoned by her mother with less than caring individuals who tortured and brutalized her and her brother mercilessly on a daily basis. As time moves forward, their mother is forced to bring them to the States where she abandons them again almost immediately with no emotion. With no reconciliation or a motherly bond which Janette always dreamed of, she must decide which path she should take and how her life should unravel as a result of her years of misfortune. Does she remain a victim emotionally or does she make her life one which she can always hold her head up and be a loving mother and nurturer to a child of her own!

About the Author

Fourth of five children born in St. Vincent West Indies on December 22, 1968. As a toddler through age twelve was spent in school on the Island of Barbados, West Indies until finally moving to New York City in 1980 to continue education and meet the rest of the family. Grambling State University in Louisiana was the college of choice where I attended from 1987 until 1995 studying the Nursing curriculum and later Therapeutic Recreation. After obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Therapeutic Recreation at Grambling State, I returned to New York City to start my career as an Activity Therapist and has since been employed in several areas from Cerebral Palsy to Mental Health. Currently I continue my occupation as an Activity Therapist in Mental Health in Illinois where I now reside with my husband and one child.
