About the Book

Passages and Praises is a compilation of poems and thoughts that I have been working on for several years. Many of the poems are derived from my life experiences and situations that I observe on a daily basis. Some of the passages are what I think other people might feel. The Praises are to our Heavenly Father, The Lord Jesus Christ, who watches over us. I give any and all credit for this book to our Savior. One of my favorite bible verses is John 15:5. This verse states that" He is the vine and we are the branches" "Without Him, we can do nothing."

About the Author

Mary (Barrick) Bone was born in 1956 at Burneyville, Oklahoma. Her parents are Mrs. Esther Lucille (Harris) Barrick of Wilson, Oklahoma and the late John Ray Barrick, a WWII Veteran. Mary has five brothers and two sisters. One brother, Tony, passed away in 1996. When Mary was twelve years old, her father passed away. At this time, she started writing poetry and drawing. After attending school at Turner and Leon, Mary attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, Oklahoma, and completed her Bachelor of General Studies Degree in 2006. Mary and her husband, Merl, have three children, Cory, Kevin and Natalie and one daughter-in-law, Rachel, who is expecting a baby boy in May, 2008.
