About the Author

Assata was born and raised in sunny Los Angeles, California. “As a creative being, I always knew that poetry was the nourishment for my soul.” Traveling from a small age also opened a window of opportunity for Assata into different cultures, people, and places. One day, she stepped out on faith and decided to combine her experiences and insights with her love for poetry and share it with others as the creator led her way. Assata decided to let the world hear her voice and composed this inspirational collection of poetry. She is noted as saying that keeping a mental journal and written journal has always allowed her mind to run free. Assata’s father and paternal grandfather were also writers; she attributes her talent to them. Currently, Assata lives in New York. After a long journey of wanting to place her spirit on the East Coast, she finally arrived in the busy city. New York has given her the freedom to explore her creativity as well as put her soul at ease. Assata continues to write inspirational readings, allowing many a view of her insight through the inspiration she so much adores. Reading heals the very core of our existences. “Without writing, I would find the source of my being very hard.”
