About the Book

After years of riotous living, a criminal returns to his small hometown to avoid the police. Not wanting to return to a life of crime, the stranger befriends an old man and learns the history of his immigrant family. His new friend helps him find work and unveils some unrevealed facts about the town, which confuses the stranger with many unrelenting questions and thoughts. Jessie, the old man, influenced the life of Bedford G. Lilly in many ways and did something great and not so common. Then Bedford met the widow, Edith Renee Coughlin and with her southern charm, she helped Bedford to recover his life and his sanity with a much-needed change of heart. Together they weathered the death of their friend and Aunt Edith became the one who forever changed Bedford with something that she never admitted until a time that she had purposely chosen.

About the Author

Bedford Grandville Lilly was born in Paragould, Arkansas in 1958. A post-Vietnam veteran and a longtime resident of the northeast Arkansas delta area, he works in a security related business in his hometown of Blytheville, Arkansas. When not working he entertains himself, his extended family and many friends with cooking, classical music, lengthy conversations, organic gardening and an occasional fishing trip.
