And it was the next set of words that grew my dislike for him. He sputtered, “The cosmos is at your feet, and you choose a plain looking child to be your protégé?” “A princess for a companion, you have chosen well,” the Archangel smiled, stepping into the gazebo from the other side, cornering the defl ated Clement. I turned, “Adelfos Angel, please, I fear I do not fully comprehend the situation. Why was my presence requested?” I asked, not holding back my frown. The Archangel nodded to me, “Kori Aliya, you have been chosen for a special assignment.” And the words he fi rst spoke on entering the gazebo hit me. Hard. Eyes wide and with a pained expression, I looked at the smiling Archangel to my wincing Archigos, before I echoed, “Companion?”
