About the Book

Predator or prey is the way of life on the East African Serengeti. On such an occasion a lone hyena secretly witnessed from the tall brown brush of the Serengeti, a lone, frightened and skinny young Masai boy struggling with fear and self doubt, face the terror of the Serengeti. The young Masai boy will determine if he will be prey or predator!

About the Author

Vastine East story telling was inspired by his late mother Fern’s nightly story telling when he was a boy. He studied at the Institute of Children’s Literature. He was inspired to publish “Masai Man” as an illustrated children book from the encouraging of the Institute of Children’s Literature instructor, Virginia Castleman and later followed by three exhilarating dream fulfilled visits to Africa. He lives in Houston, Texas with his wife Yvette M. East. Special thanks go to Lorena Birk for the breath taking illustrations.
