About the Book
Included herein are four collections of my poems I put together, including those in the publication of Poems and Visions in 1968. None of the “visions” from that collection is included; each is poetry in some broad sense but not poems, lacking the intransitive and self-limiting nature I take my trials at writing poems to attempt achieving. Though I compiled the second of the included collections, Successes and Failures, in 1989, it includes a number of poems completed prior to those in Poems and Visions, the oldest of which and still one of my favorites having been written in 1950. The third collection, entitled simply Five, contains poems written between 1993 and 2004. The fourth collection Riding the Moons contains poems written in the seven years prior to 2009, some of which are found in one or other of the six volumes of the Ysstrhm series.
