About the Book
When Amos Posey is sent to Tokyo… by his employer, it is the first time he has been separated from his turned-frigid (he says) wife for more than a few days. In Japan he quickly finds success in business and, unexpectedly, in frequent love affairs—romance on demand, by arrangement, by chance encounter. Now a philandering womanizer as well as a hands-on executive, Amos faces more life-changing social and commercial problems (in the Orient as well at home in Boston) than he can comfortably cope with. Before his first divorce he begins writing what he calls “my notes” as a form of self-analysis—titillating diarylike confessions, opinions and beliefs which two publishers consider worthy of being “fleshed out” into a biography or a novel. Naughty or nice, this is Amos’s story.
