About the Book

This is the story of a patient with Stage III breast cancer who chose treatment using complementary and alternative methods over conventional medical therapy. She is currently seventeen years post diagnosis with no evidence of tumor. Her personal story in her own words is presented as well as a scientific analysis by the author as a medical case study. A commentary about use of conventional and alternative methods in cancer and overall health is included.


About the Author

Dr. Bosiljevac, a third generation Croatian, was born in Omaha in 1951, and lived in Nebraska for fourteen years. His parents moved to Emporia, Kansas, where he attended Roosevelt High School and graduated from Emporia State University with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry. He attended the University of Kansas School of Medicine and was among the first class that spent clinical years at the Wichita branch. Graduating in the top ten percent of his class with his MD in 1975, he was selected for membership in the honorary society Alpha Omega Alpha. Dr. Joe spent one year at Charity Hospital in New Orleans in a rotating internship, then returned to Kansas and trained for five years in general, thoracic, and vascular surgery at Wesley Medical Center. Dr. Bosiljevac is board certified in general surgery and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). He has been in solo practice in Emporia, Kansas, since 1981 with Flint Hills Surgical Associates, PA. A PhD in Natural Medicine was achieved December 2009, and he subsequently started a wellness practice and founded Flint Hills Natural Medicine with an emphasis on prolonging health and longevity. Dr. Bosiljevac has been certified in age-management medicine and worked with Cenegenics Medical and Research Institute. He is also a member of the American College of Advancement in Medicine (ACAM) and certified in chelation medicine. Married to a Colombian princess and with four grown children, he speaks fluent Spanish and is conversant in French.
