About the Author

DEATH is something I learned about at a very early age. I was 8 when my Grandpa (my fathers’ dad) died then about 6 months later my Moms mom died. Coming from a large family it seemed at times I was surrounded by death. Now all you have to do is turn on the news and it is there all over the place. Death in all of its aspects have become as common as the flu. I was born into a catholic family that believed if you went to church on Sunday you can do what you want the rest of the week. I could not buy into it. When I was a teenager I went through some really tough times and almost committed suicide. I then became a servant for the devil until I realized he was a great big liar. After experiencing more hard times and nagging my brother brought me to a born again Christian church which helped me find God again. But everything they were preaching made no sense to me and confused me greatly. So I became a lost soul again for many years. After I got married and was blessed with my two children I was sent on a three year journey that I had no idea about. After losing just about everything I had except my wife and kids, I got a job at the Home Depot where I met the 1 person who would change my life forever, my brother. It was through him that I learned about the Islamic faith and eventually became a Muslim. It was through him that I learned how to separate things that are truly important in life and what I had perceived as important. The greatest thing he taught me was the true importance of family and how important our mother really is. After becoming, a Muslim all things in life started to make sense. All the mysteries and questions I had were gone and I found a joy and happiness in life that I never had before.
