About the Author
Raoul A. LeBlanc is an experienced geologist with many years of groundwater research and has located numerous water well sites. He was a hydrogeologist with the United States Geological Survey for 15 year (1953-1968) and the author of seven USGS reports and publications, and a co-author of four additional reports. He has been an independent consultant for over fifteen years–locating water well sites for land owners and prospective owners. In addition to technical writing about water, he has published two volumes of poetry which frequently deal with the natural world, and is scheduled to publish a third volume in 2011. Bsides being a poet and author, he is an avid hiker and naturalist, with a special interest in mushrooms and edible wild plants of the U.S. Pacific Northwest. In his earlier life he has been a merchant seaman, jewelry designer, business owner, and graphic artist. He continues to write poetry, paint and draw–and explore the forests and hills of Western Washington State on a regular basis.
