About the Book

The bird walk is a place located on the upper Texas Gulf Coast where Felipe, the injured sea turtle and all his friends live happily. Suddenly one of the oil rigs of the hundreds in the gulf explodes and begins spilling crude oil into the waters. Felipe and his friends must choose what to do as the bad news arrives. They make the perilous trip and try to help all the creatures affected by the spill. The rescuers learn to trust and help each other as they encounter the dangers in the water and recruit the help of others on the way. With teamwork and determination, the team assists countless creatures to safety and some are even relocated to the Texas bird walk where they can begin to rebuild their lives. Finally the disaster ends and the creatures at the pier can focus on their daily lives.
